Coding Camp makes its official launch in Nablus and Hebron
Partners for Sustainable Development (PSD) in cooperation with An-Najah National University in Nablus and Palestine Polytechnic University/ Fawzi-Kawosh Center in Hebron implementedthe Coding Camp. The camp intends to enhance logical thinking and problem solving skills and provide the participants (ages between 6 – 15) with cognition skills, through coding using www.code.organd www.codeacademy.comstrategies and methodologies. Hence, students will be able to use technology to advance their learning abilities, problem solving skills,unleash their creativity, and innovative.
20 youth (out of 100 applied) were recruited from various different Palestinian universities, specialized in the fields of ICT, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering. They participated in Training of Trainers program by which the youth and PSD team developed training material with clear and achievable objectives using www.code.org and www.codeacademy.com methodology. The trainers designed new sessions using C++ programing language, they developed algorithm from scratch and practiced the best way to deliver a training session so that the kids can learn how to develop simple coding principles.

My self-confidence has increased and I am looking forward to be part of the next summer camps”. Many positive feedbacks from parents, children, and trainers were received as well.

At the end of the coding camp, a closing ceremony was organized; trainers and children were given certificates. Parents’ and children’s feedback were captured.
