Partners for Sustainable Development in Cooperation with Paltel Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the initiative “From University to Work”. It was held at the University’s main campus in Nablus on Thursday dated April 17th, 2014, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Maher Natsheh; Acting President of the University, Jawad Abu Aoun; the Chief Executive Officer of Partners for Sustainable Development, Emad Al-Laham; Public Relations Director of Paltel Group, and Dr. Saaeda Afouna; Director of the e-Learning Center at the university, along with a number of college deans.

 

 

Prof. Dr. Maher Natsheh; Acting President of Al-Najah National University thanked Paltel Group for their continuous effort and support to the education sector, students and graduates, referring to the projects that have been implemented in collaboration with Paltel Group such as supporting Al-Najah National University’s Hospital and supporting NETKETABI project; as one of the largest projects of Partners for Sustainable Development.

Added, Jawad Abu- Own; CEO of Partners for Sustainable Development (PSD) ”we are working towards raising people’s awareness regarding the concepts of; Social Enterprise, Capacity Building, and Service Learning, etc. we prepare students to acquire analytical and entrepreneurial skills by promoting creative thinking and innovation through information and communication technology”.

Said Emad Laham; Director of Public Relations at Paltel Group “at Paltel Group we care, support and work toward developing education sector in Palestine. We stress the importance of helping students gain the professional skills needed and keep them in line with the current market needs and requirements”.

“From University to Work” project aims to improve the competencies and the skills possessed by graduates of both the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in order to meet the labor market needs and maintain relationships between the university and the community institutions. The first step started by launching three educational courses that are subjective to the topics of technology and e-learning methodologies and techniques. It will help students gain the skills needed to compete in the current market place, such as ability to work in teams, communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to use technology in an efficient and effective manner.
